FREE Driving Lessons

As part of our Approved Driving Instructor Training Program, we require Learners with little or no experience to assist. Candidates can be nominated or individuals can nominate themselves. The successful candidates would preferably be someone who could not afford driving lessons under normal circumstances. This could be a young carer, someone with an ill family member or someone where a driving licence would make a huge difference with a career opportunity or further education. ALL circumstances will be considered with a minimum age of 17 and no maximum age limit.

Training would start and end at the Driving Test Centre in Musselburgh and travel to & from this location may be necessary, but we will try pick up & drop off if possible.

Applicants must have a provisional licence at the start of training with no points or previous bans and be willing to use our free theory test app.

Training would be provided with 1 Trainee Driving Instructor and a DVSA Approved Instructor Trainer would accompany.

Both trainers have full Barring Disclosure (Criminal Record Cleared).

You must be willing to give “honest and clear feedback” to both the Instructor Trainer and Instructor Student as required and as part of this program to be successful.

Our normal Terms of Business apply, however there can be no more than two cancelations and candidates ‘MUST’ be reliable.

There is no minimum or maximum hours given, however between 26-40 is the normal over a 6 or 12 month period.

The candidate can also participate in our ‘Driver of the Year’ competition (details will soon be available).

The candidate MUST be available for 2 hours on a Saturday and/or Sunday every second weekend and 2 weeks notice will normally be given to you.

When the Trainee Instructor applies for test, this will be agreed with you and the candidate MUST be available as part of the terms of the agreement. The test will be on a week day and 6 weeks notice will be given for this.

The only expense to the successful candidates are possibly travel to/from the meeting point and their own theory test fee. If developed quickly enough, their own driving test fee too.

There should be no lessons or training with another Instructor to ensure progress, development & understanding is made with the Trainee Instructor. Because of the process used, candidates will train longer than normal, however this is a trade off to having the lessons for free.
